ATI ( Allied Telesyn International) is a company that creates graphic chips and cards.
Linux support
All cards up to and including the Radeon 9200 are fully supported (includes 3D hardware acceleration) by XFree86 and Xorg through the ati driver (and its 'sub' drivers called r128 and radeon). Currently, for newer radeon cards (based on r300 chips and higher) only the 2d part is supported (But a new r300 driver is in development[1] and should show up in the next Xorg 6.9/7.0 release).
For the Radeon 8500 and above, ATI develops their own (closed source) drivers for linux.
All in Wonder features (and tv-out on other ATI cards) are supported by the GATOS drivers.
