A strategy game by Sid Meier set into the future. A group of colonists set off to the Alpha Centauri system, but during the journey a reactor fault occurred. The colonists split into a seven different factions, not seperated by their race or country of origin, but by their ideology.

Alpha Centauri improved upon the highly acclaimed Civilization series.

For linux, Loki Games released Alpha Centauri packed along with the expansion pack and named it the Alpha Centauri Planetary Pack. There is no more Loki Games, but the game can still be found from some retail stores, mostly for the full retail price.
