CRUX is a lightweight i686-optimized Linux distribution mainly designed for experienced Linux users. Its primary focus is "keep it simple", wich is reflected by a simple tar.gz-based package system, a BSD-style initscript, and a collection of trimmed packages.

The secondary focus is using new Linux features and recent tools and libraries.

CRUX also has a ports system which makes it easy to install and upgrade applications.
