A guru is a person who is considered to have 'above average' or 'phenomenal' computer knowledge and skills. The person who can answer your questions about the most obscure aspects of a system when everyone else is completely stumped. Implies not only wizard-level skill but also a history of being a knowledge resource for others. Less often, used (with a qualifier) for other experts on other systems, as in VMS guru.
