Intel is a hardware company which dominates much of the X86 PC market alongside AMD. Their primary offering is the Pentium processor but among others they have the Celeron for home PCs and the Itanium for 64bit server deployment.

Intel also produces network, audio, and video components for compliant motherboards. However, despite the fact that Intel is a major player in the hardware industry, they seem to be one of the least friendly and forthcoming to the open source community regarding product specifications.
