iozone is a file I/O benchmark tool.

How to get it

• Download it from http://www.iozone.org
• unpack it using

tar xvf iozone*

• build it using

cd iozone*/src/current
make linux

• install it using

cp iozone /bin

How to use it

Benchmark with synch

iozone -s 1000000 -e
