Libranet is a production of Libra Computer Systems Ltd, who have been providing UNIX systems and software development since 1984 and Linux systems since 1999. They are located in the Vancouver, Canada.

Libranet is a good and easy to use operating system. This system is stable, fast and comprehensive. It is a viable desktop for home and commercial use. The system is easy to install and requires little, if any, support, and is thus recommended for newbies. Libranet is an exceptional Debian system, in the sense that it has carved a niche out for itself in the ever growing Linux market.

Being based on Debian means that Libranet offers you apt-get. Awesome... And don't worry, being based on Debian doesn't mean that you get a Debian installer. It looks similar to the Debian installer, but it is quite different.

At some point the makers of Libranet, Libra Computer Systems Ltd., had made Libranet 2.8.1 free to download as a trial download.

This distribution is no longer maintained since november 2005 [1]
