LimeWire is a Java based P2P file sharing program that runs on the Gnutella network. As it is written in Java, it is platform independent and so can run on Linux, Win32, Mac OS X and other platforms too.

Windows users who are migrating to Linux should be aware that there are many Gnutella clients available for Linux. Since LimeWire is java based, it can be tricky to setup, and a native client (one written and compiled for Linux specifically) might be a better choice to get started with.
