Lycoris is a commercial GNU/Linux desktop system. Originally, it was based on the Caldera OpenLinux 3.1 distribution. OpenLinux has since been discontinued. (Lycoris has also been discontinued, now folded into what has become Mandriva, a merging of Mandrake, Conectiva, and Lycoris). The idea of Lycoris is to create a desktop system that is usable by people who are not familiar with installing and using Linux systems, who simply want to use their computer system for reading Email, browsing the Web, and other common desktop activities.
