Megabyte

A unit of storage equal to approximately one million bytes. Hard drives are typically advertized with capacities expressed with a megabyte equal to 1000*1000 bytes. For other purposes, a megabyte is 1024*1024 bytes. Either meaning is typically abbreviated MB, and a megabit, 1024*1024 bits, is abbreviated Mb.
