OS/2 is an operating system designed by IBM and Microsoft. It's first version was released in 1987. In 1990 Microsoft discovered that it's Windows OS was more profitable and the development of OS/2 1.x and 2.x was left to IBM. Microsoft continued working on the OS/2 3.x and renamed it later to Windows NT.
