Ogle is an open source DVD player for Linux, BSD and Solaris and is released under the GPL. What makes it different from other players is that it's only aimed at playing DVDs.

Specific special features include:

• extensive DVD menu support
• playing unencrypted/encrypted DVDs
• playing DVD images from harddisk
• S/PDIF output

Goggles is a nice GUI-frontend for Ogle, also licensed under the GPL.
