PC-BSD is an easy to use FreeBSD-based operating system which comes with the KDE desktop. The advantage of using PC-BSD is that you gain access to a very easy to install and use desktop system, but you have the backing of solid, stable, and extremely expansive FreeBSD ports and packages. You can also access many Linux based BSD ports, just as you can with FreeBSD. The result is a stable, immediately usable, free desktop system.
