Peanut Linux 12.0 is a 100% pure Linux Glibc 3.3.4, GCC3, Libc6 ELF system. The CD itself is a squashfs based operating system for your x86 PC.
It is loaded with Enlightenment WM. v0.16.7, X-org 6.8.2 cvs, KDE 3.3.1 (Full Install with Speech Tools) Kernel 2.6.10 w/ USB, PnP, support for video, sound, PCMCIA, Ethernet, PPP, Slip, ISDN, Cable, ADSL and USB devices. Includes eFax, Small / Home Office applications and 3D games.
Supports DEB RPM TGZ packages. Slackware based.
Install process is text based, easy, stable and reliable.
Version 12.0 is reported to run on a PentiumII and up, and should have a requirement of at least 64Megs of RAM.
Version 9.6 will run on a PentiumII and up (but not AMD K2/6) with only 96Megs of RAM and 1200Megs of disk space.
Version 9.5 will run on a i486 with only 64Megs of RAM and 1000Megs of disk space. Peanut distro is active.
