PlaneShift is a fantasy 3D MMORPG that tries to focus on, and encourage role playing. It contains various races to play, all look something like humans, including the classic human/elf/dwarf. The world is overly fairly relaxing, there is lots of open terrain to run around in between the various cities, as well as less focus on purely leveling up.

There are lots of skills, and no matter what race you choose for your character, you can level up in any of them. At character creation tho, the various options you choose effect the starting levels for your character. There are skills for just about every aspect of the game.

PlaneShift is still currently (as of February 2007) still in development, and altho playable the server is technically a test server, and there are a number of small bugs (like getting stuck in terrain), as well as non-existent parts of the game, such as no models for some of the races, or skills that don't do anything yet.
