Libranet really is excellent. What's so nice about it is that the installation and configuration tools are simple enough to get you going with a Debian-based system, yet true to the spirit of Debian. The benefit of this approach is that you get into a really powerful and flexible packaging system (meaning you can install and use whatever you want), but the cost in time and effort is reasonable and manageable. I highly recommend this distro. A new version is in the works. A test release for the new version is about a month away, the production version will follow. Meanwhile, getting a downloadable copy of the existing version is free.
