Many problems with USB based printers could possbily be avoided by using print servers or by using a parallel to USB converter, such as LPT2USB. (at www.epapersign.com/parallel2usb) Granted, that I have not personally tested it (but will soon). This may cure a lot of Lexmark Printer USB problems where the USB port does not seem to communicate correctly.

The DB25-LPT2USB (XR0027) is a single device that connects directly to your Parallel port. Almost looks like a DB25 to RJ45 connector.

The LPT2USB (XR0017) is an external box/converter that will require buying cables.

DISCLAMER: This is not a promo for the product, just that no one seems to know where the beast is, so here it is.
