*NIX

*NIX is a general term for operating systems which resemble UNIX.
It is also sometimes written *n?x, a regular expression that matches both "Unix" and "Linux".
Such systems include:
- GNU/Linux
- Free/Open/Net/DesktopBSD (etc) (even though they do not match the regular expression)
- Various types of Unix
