Gentoo is a highly configurable, extremely graphical, dual-pane file manager that is not a clone of, but is reminiscent of, Amiga's Directory Opus file manager.

Gentoo can be configured entirely via GUI. Once configured to recognize even the less common filetypes it will be a powerful tool for previewing and managing files. It can be controlled with the keyboard so it's particulary well suited for laptop owners.

It should not be confused with Gentoo, the Linux distribution, with which it has no particular connections.
