Does it really look better to have the first letter of each word in bold rather than the whole name? I am sure most people are able to figure out how an acronym works, and I myself find it slightly harder to read this way (not to mention the ridiculous number of apostrophes needed to achieve the effect).. I don't really find it harder to read. Only when the first letters aren't capitals it looks a bit weird. But I guess it also depends a lot on the used fonts. And I think it can be useful in some cases to emphasize that it is a acronym and in some cases it's not always only the first capital letters .(GRUB is the only one I can come up with at the moment). On the mailing list the discussion was only between bolding, italics or both I think, not about actually not doing it at all. And bolding ended up on the manual of style. But I do agree on the last bit, it does take an insane amount of apostrophes. But look at it from the bright side, at least the bold and italics format wasn't selected ;) Jor 16:18, Apr 4, 2004 (EDT)
