Window Maker is a light-weight, ICCCM compliant, window manager. modeled on the user interface found in the NeXTSTEP and OPENSTEP operating systems.

Window Maker's interface features a "dock", which is a place for application icons to sit. The dock can also hold dockapps.

Tips

If you have Window Maker installed, the command used to start it from within your ~/.xinitrc is " exec wmaker", then "startx" should start an X session with Window Maker. To start it from the command line, try "startx exec wmaker".
