There are many forms of data storage, such as BIOS chips and, temporarily, RAM chips but the most common form of so-called "permanent storage" is the disk which, itself, comes in many forms.
Common examples of disks include:
Magnetic disks
- Floppy disks
- Hard disks (grouped by their bus system: usb disks, (S)ATA disks, scsi/SAS disks)
