Ftpd

ftpd stands for File Transfer Protocol Daemon. It is a daemon server program for the FTP protocol.

FTPd Software

A number of FTP servers for Linux exist. They include:

• vsftpd, the Very Secure FTP daemon
• wu-ftpd, the Washington University FTP daemon
• ProFTPd, a newer daemon
• AnomicFTPD - a small, fast, free/GPL, "full" (RFC959 compliant) terminal-based ftpd server in Java with own user account management.
