Ion is a minimalist window manager. Although it is very small and light, it is a full featured window manager designed with keyboard users in mind. It makes use of the lua language, and rather than using float windows, it encourages frames.
Features include:
- Full useability with either mouse/keyboard or both.
- Tabbed frames
- Full frame control
- Mapping of application by class and/or title to frame
- Multiple desktops
- Float frame support
- Themeable
- Lua customizeable
- Full screening, docking support.
- Application menu.
- Support for most Linux software.
The down side of this wonderful WM is its steep learning curve, but it's really worth the effort to try for any hardcore Linux user.
