Mdstat

/proc/mdstat is a handle in the proc filesystem, informing you about the status of software raid arrays on your system.

Example

On a machine with builtin support but no active RAID arrays:

   $ cat /proc/mdstat
   Personalities : [linear] [multipath] [raid0] [raid1] [raid6] [raid5] [raid4] [raid10] 
   unused devices: <none>
   $
