I don't know where to go with it, but doesnt it sound like an ad?

I'd noticed this myself a while back. The main content of this article does come from the main page of http://www.amigolinux.com. I've talked with gnashely, who is the copyright holder, a moderator at the relevant LQ subforum, and apparently the main developer of the distro. He wasn't aware of the use, but seemed okay with it. He said that he'd try to work on the article a bit, but with all his (or possibly her - "on the internet, nobody knows you're a dog") hats, its understandable why she or he hasn't had time to work on it. (Someone with the username Gilbert has been working on the Amigo HOWTO's article - gnashely==Gilbert?).

I think Gilbert/gnashely would be okay with it if somebody wanted to reuse portions of the offical documentation to make the article less advertising and more informative. Make sure to get explicit permission first (the subforum would probably be a good place to start. And remember to give attribution - something along the lines of: ''This article, in whole or in part, is based on <insert document name>, and is used under the Creative Commons (attribution-sharealike) license with the permission of the copyright holder. The original document can be found at <insert link here>.'' Crazyeddie 01:35, Dec 15, 2004 (EST)
