Re: Dysprosia (implying eterm doesn't run "without a hitch" is not correct/suitable)

Eterm requires the 'libast' library which conflicts with a library needed by ksh (part of the reason Slackware dropped Enlightenment) and it often fails to pick up the root window image without specifically using Esetroot or taking special steps other terms don't need. I agree that we shouldn't be editorializing, but I was referencing factual matters, though I should perhaps have been more explicit.

The problem is that eterm runs "without a hitch" in Enlightenment (from what I've used)- so it is inaccurate to imply that it does not unless, yes, one is more explicit. We should aim to keep advocacy/editorialism out as much as possible in articles since it is offputting for a reader. Dysprosia 07:16, Mar 6, 2004 (EST)

Agreed. I think it should be referenced in the Eterm entry that Eterm is rather Enlightenment-dependent though, so people aren't surprised when Eterm doesn't work so well outside the environment. But you're right - not relevant here. It came to mind by way of pointing out that aterm didn't need Afterstep at all, in case readers thought it did.

And I'm glad you brought this page to the top - I'd missed the edit before yours and, IMO, it needed some re-editing.
