it was showing up for some reason, not as a comment so I moved it here. I don't think that it is cluster sizes, no. The main improvements of VFAT over FAT 16 were that it wasn't limited to 8.3 filenames and it could hold bigger files (as well as having larger partitions). I'll leave it in though because I'm not sure.
