Talk:Set up an imap server

If you try to explain what an IMAP server is, you end up having to explain "email" as a technology. The thing I keep runing into when I attempt this is if you try to explain what IMAP is or isn't, you end up talking about MTAs, MUAs,MSAs, MX records, message elements, and mime types in order to explain what IMAP does and doesn't do. Or are we just developing an instruction manual for configuring IMAP on a vanilla Linux installation?
