Help Linux Gurus!!Trying LTSP. Terminals give shell only but in Xwindow only X mouse pointer is visible and moves on mouse movement, nothing else is in desktop area. If I switch to shell screen I can use ssh etc, after a time it automatically returns to x screen and with that small X pointer. I have installed the new RH9 Linux server on a pentium with 128MB RAM. Down loaded LSTP 4.1 iso image and installed. Configuration done with ltspadmin. Set DHCP [range, file,root-path ], NFS exports, Hosts, samba, httpd, XF86Config with vesa driver. I have noticed terminal startup messages show "cannot write to syslog at x.y.z.n:514" XFS not running are they causing trouble? I have little knowledge about Linux and prefer editing configs over config tools. Previously set Linux /Samba/Apache/Mysql server box, Floppy based FFw and Coyote Linux and they are in good shape.
