Wireless Tools

The Wireless Tools are a set of programs that interface with the many wireless drivers available for linux via the Wireless Extensions API. It includes:

  • iwconfig: change most significant wireless settings
  • iwlist: check the status of settings, scan for accesspoints
  • iwspy
  • iwpriv: change driver-specific settings
  • ifrename
