Hi,
I just tried to create a root partition backup image using this command. After some messing around and with the help of my "linux godmother", I got it right - only to realize that the image would be more than 4GB, too large for FAT32. This info could also be pointed out or linked to here. The main point, however, is: In the article, more specifically in the example for creating a hard_drive_backup_image, it is not quite clear that "/mnt/..." is only meant to refer to the Mountpoint. Moreover - and I think that might be wrong or at the least confusing in the example above that one, too - the mountpoints for hard drives and mountable stuff is not /dev, but /media and the name will differ and not often be as minimalistic as sdb1 - my USB disk, for example, is /media/usbdisk. Maybe for future generation of Linux-nuts with more enthusiasm than competence (like me) who come across these pages, that should be made clearer. Regards,
Macadamianux

- Fixed it myself, thank you! --ThorstenStaerk 08:11, December 22, 2008 (UTC)
I would like to rewrite this article to get rid of the duty of paying attribution to the Jargon File. Objections? --ThorstenStaerk 07:26, December 16, 2008 (UTC)
