Great work on the formatting page! Extremely useful. Just an observation, though: could you save up your edits by editing the preview page repeatedly rather than saving the edits so often? That'll cut down on the logging of changes and make things easier to follow. I usually take at least two edits for everything I do, it seems, so I'm not one to talk, but it just seems like it would be good to keep the logged edits down.

Either way, that's some good stuff.

Thanks....

Great work on the Wiki Skyline.

It's gud, it's good, it's gooood. :)

Linuxlala

Thanks, Lala, I appreciate that :) - the Wiki Markup guide has been my main focus so far - hope to have more time to contribute more to other areas soon - we've currently got an active Talk surrounding the structure of the Apps page etc - feel free to add ideas etc - hope to get a few opinions before we re-arrange the Apps area.

You don't need underscores in links for spaces, nor do you need to pipe them :) Dysprosia 23:23, Mar 8, 2004 (EST)

Either way works perfectly well, but yes, using spaces is slightly simpler - thanks :)

Nice work Skyline! I suggest you join the mailing-list if you are interested in helping out with the behind the scene stuff. MikeCapone 02:29, Marc 8, 2004 (EST)

Thanks... already joined Mike and like several other people, have been helping out with "behind the scenes stuff" since the start:)

Good! I'm new so I don't know everybody yet, but I figured that I had to invite you just in case you weren't aware of it. Keep up the good work. MikeCapone 13:04, Marc 9, 2004 (EST)
No probs Mike and thanks for your input to the Wiki so far - the content is developing nicely. Skyline 13:10, Mar 9, 2004 (EST)

Could you maybe copy your LQ profile here for us poor souls who are not yet members of the LQ forums? Is there any other LQwikiers who aren't LQers? Crazyeddie 18:12, May 25, 2004 (EDT)

The LQ profile is regularly updated - some of the content "copied" in would soon be out of date - as for the LQWikiers who aren't LQers - probably -- Skyline 18:56, May 25, 2004 (EDT)
Fair enough. Sometime I feel like an oppressed (if voluntary) minority. Crazyeddie 16:33, May 27, 2004 (EDT)
Moot point now, I've registered (finally). Crazyeddie 16:40, May 27, 2004 (EDT)

Skyline, you seem to be the goto guy for formatting and such. Any ideas on how to deal with directory paths? I've been working on articles for the top level directories, didn't have much problems, but what would you call an article for, say, /usr/bin/games ? Crazyeddie 16:43, Jun 2, 2004 (EDT)

Good question, I'll get back to you on this - btw, do we think the "descriptions" of the most "familiar" sub-directories will be sufficiently in-depth to merit separate pages? or alternately, if they're going to be a little more brief, possibly include them via ==headers== under the corresponding high-level directory article. -- Skyline 22:34, Jun 2, 2004 (EDT)
Well, they'll probably be at least as long as half the pages around here. :-/ Also, any convention you'll come up with will probably also work for specific files, which will have pretty long entries.Crazyeddie 02:12, Jun 5, 2004 (EDT)

Skyline, you redirected my Search page to a Searching page. I notice that some of my other pages have links to both. I intended Search to be a more general page that referred to other pages like Google and Searching, but I duplicated some information that was in Searching.

Our existing search page (created on March 6th) already talks about "How to search using Go or Find" and "Google".....we don't need this duplicated on another "search" page - further - any links on this Wiki that need to refer users to the topic of "How to search this wiki" etc, etc, will be made to the existing search page - that's what it's there for.... - Skyline 19:43, Jun 3, 2004 (EDT)

How about avoiding the duplication by putting just the general description and the links in Search? TomFrayne 17:00, June 3, 2004 (EDT)

General description of what ? - Skyline 19:43, Jun 3, 2004 (EDT)
General description of the term "Search".

Skyline, you might want to take a look at the RAID article. It looks like the formating is screwed up. Crazyeddie 18:42, Aug 4, 2004 (EDT)

I took the liberty of changing the way the Template:Forums is stated. You might want to take a look at it. Crazyeddie 17:14, Dec 9, 2004 (EST)

I've shortened it (in a different way from yours). Please take a look. Crazyeddie 16:55, Dec 16, 2004 (EST)

Page is getting kinda long - might want to archive. Anyway, you might want to check out Talk:Applications. Crazyeddie 18:40, Jan 17, 2005 (EST)
